Steamship City of Paris, Inman Line
This lithograph portrays the ocean liner City of Paris, operated by the Inman Line. The artwork is unsigned, but the lithograph was printed by Major, Knapp & Company in New York. Note that the name plate on the bow is slightly obscured, as this print was meant to advertise both the City of Paris and her sister ship City of New York. These vessels were built in 1888 as express liners to rival White Star’s Teutonic and Majestic.
