Steamship Empress of Japan, Canadian Pacific Line
Poster featuring an imposing portrait of the passenger liner Empress of Japan, of the Canadian Pacific Line, in a Japanese port with Mount Fuji looming in the background. The line was founded in 1884 when the Canadian Pacific Railway Company began running passenger services between Montreal and Port Moody, and Vancouver and Asia. This ship was built in 1929 for services between Hong Kong, Yokohama and Vancouver. When Japan entered WWII in 1942, she was renamed to Empress of Scotland.
